The Cabinet adopted a resolution on an experimental project, which will identify the dead as a result of Russian aggression according to biometric data.
About it reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The project is intended to accelerate and make more accurate identification of the dead military and civilians, as well as promptly inform their families. Traditional methods, such as DNA analysis, take a long time and do not always produce results, so using fingerprints and photos will help to reduce the process significantly.
Within the project, the authorized authorities will access the national biometric verification system and the automated dactyloscopic Ministry of Internal Affairs, which allows to check the data of more than 26.6 million citizens and foreigners. The procedure provides for removal of prints and photographing of bodies, entering data to the bases and their automatic verification, the results of which will be transmitted by the investigator for the procedural design.
It is also planned to stactilos the military and police involved in the battles so that this data can be used solely to find the missing persons and identify the dead.
On September 18, a thousand bodies of Ukrainian servicemen were returned to Ukraine.
