Manipulative messages about the activities of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) and the financial situation in the country are spreading in Ukraine. According to the Center for Combating Disinformation (CCP), the organizers are thus trying to discredit the work of the regulator.

In particular, a large number of recorded manipulations are aimed at discrediting the NBU as an institution and the regulatory policy of the National Bank.
“The goal of this campaign is to undermine public confidence in the National Bank of Ukraine, measures to ensure macro-financial stability, provoking mistrust of the national currency, spreading uncertainty among people, as well as an attempt to influence the confidence of international partners in Ukraine,” the message reads.
According to the CPD, this may be part of a wider campaign to discredit the state institutions of Ukraine with the aim of undermining the public’s trust in the state.
It will be recalled that Russian propaganda networks actively created TikTok accounts on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, filling them with content generated with the help of artificial intelligence in order to quickly attract subscribers. After building an audience, such pages gradually change their subject and start spreading manipulative and disinformation messages.
