In Ukraine, it will soon be possible to report traffic accidents through the Diya application. The injured party will also be able to apply for an insurance payment. The relevant procedure was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on December 10.

How to report an accident in Diya?
Participants in road accidents will be able to submit a report through the mobile application if they have electronic documents in “Diya”: domestic or international passport, tax number, electronic driver’s license, technical license and a valid OSCPV policy (“autocivilka”).
In order to submit an application, you need to select the notification service in “Action”. It contains contact information (name, phone number, e-mail address), tax number, residential address, information about the car (make, model, number plates), technical passport data, driver’s license, “autocivilki”.
The user must also describe the circumstances of the accident: time, date, place, location of the car, participants, direction of travel, road signs and markings, add street names and photos of the scene.
In addition, it is necessary to confirm that no one was injured, and the drivers have no signs of intoxication, as well as that the vehicles are without trailers. Geolocation must be enabled to confirm the location of the accident.
The generated message must be signed using “Action.Signature”. When the information about the road accident reaches the insurance company or the Motor and Transport Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, the participants of the road accident will receive a corresponding notification in “Action”.
How to apply for an insurance payment in “Diya”?
To receive an insurance payment after a road accident, the victim can submit an application through the Diya mobile application. In the application, you need to indicate your data: surname, first name, patronymic, tax number, passport data, residential address and contacts.
It is also necessary to indicate which insurer the applicant is contacting, what damage needs to be compensated, information about the insurance policy, as well as the make and number plates of the car. If the applicant wants to receive money to his account, he needs to add bank details.
If necessary, you can additionally indicate the costs of evacuating the car or paying for parking.
It will be possible to register a traffic accident through “Diya” as early as 2025, after the publication of the relevant resolution.
