As of 9:30 a.m. on January 2, 2026, electricity consumption in Ukraine exceeded the previous day’s level by 21.2%.

NEC “Ukrenergo” reported this on Facebook.

The reason for the increase was the application of a smaller amount of forced restrictions compared to the previous day.

At the same time, due to the Russian attacks, consumers in the Zaporizhzhia region remain without power in the morning, and the restoration of the energy infrastructure in Odesa and Kyiv regions continues.

Due to the effects of previous massive strikes, most areas are in power restriction schedules for businesses and hourly outages for the public.

The Ministry of Energy also reports on the consequences of bad weather:

  • Ivano-Frankivsk region – 27 settlements without electricity;

  • Lviv region – 17 settlements;

  • Odeshchyna – more than 11,000 consumers remain without electricity.

The situation remains under control, work to restore the power supply continues.

As a reminder, on January 2, 2026, schedules of hourly electricity blackouts for the population and capacity limitations for industrial facilities will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine.

On January 1, hourly blackout schedules were introduced in all regions of Ukraine due to the consequences of recent Russian missiledrone attacks.
