From April 1, a spawning ban on fishing is started on the reservoirs of Ukraine.

This period is extremely important for preserving aquatic bioresources, because in the spring, most species of fish delay caviar. The ban will continue depending on the region and the type of reservoirs, but generally covers the spring and summer season.

At this time, fishermen are forbidden to use any fishing tools that can harm fish populations. According to the rules, only amateur catch in specially defined areas, using one fishing rod or spinning with one hook is allowed.

However, even in such cases, there is a restriction on the number of fish caught – no more than three kilograms per person per day.

Violation of the spawning ban is punishable by penalties, the size of which depends on the type of fish and the harm caused by nature. For example, a considerable amount will have to be paid for catching pike or walleye.

In addition, in the case of gross violations, criminal prosecution is possible.

Ecologists emphasize that compliance with spawning ban is critical for maintaining the ecosystem of reservoirs. Spawning is a period when the fish is most vulnerable and any intervention can lead to a significant reduction in its population.

Therefore, they urge citizens to be conscious and report cases of poaching to the relevant bodies.

Recall that Ukraine continues to show high rates of soybean processing. In February 2025, the internal plants reached the absolute monthly maximum, processing approximately 320-330 thousand tons of soybeans, which is 27% more than in January.

We also reported that the drinking water of centralized water supplying to the people of Kyivans meets all requirements. But in the reservoirs the situation is worse.
