In Ukraine, a new air warning system has been launched, which allows for the differentiation of signals by regions.
This approach, for in words of Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko, is already active throughout the country, except for the Donetsk region.
“At the first stage, the system was tested in 13 regions. Now it has been expanded to all regions,” Svyridenko noted.
The innovation was developed by the State Emergency Service in cooperation with the Air Force and regional military administrations and should significantly reduce the duration of alarms in safe communities.
Testing of the new system took place in 13 regions, which resulted in a significant reduction in the duration of signals, especially in the frontline and central regions.
According to her, the new format has already significantly reduced the duration of alarms, especially in the frontline and central regions. The greatest effect was recorded in Dnipropetrovsk region – some communities received more than 100 additional days without alarms, in Sumy region the time of alarms decreased by 50 days, in Kharkiv region – by more than a month in some communities.
In addition, the promptness of the notification has increased significantly: the transmission of the signal from the Air Force to the EMS now takes only 8-15 seconds instead of several minutes. The government expects this will allow critical infrastructure and businesses to operate more stably and support economic activity in the regions.
