During the year, Ukrainian border guards and law enforcement officers exposed 420 criminal groups that were engaged in illegally transporting men across the border.
As reported spokesman of the State Border Service Andriy Demchenko during a briefing in Ukrinform, 28 organizers and guides were found among these groups, who promised to help in an attempt to cross the border for money.
According to Demchenko, 28 groups engaged in illegal activities were exposed in October.
“These are both the organizers and guides who were part of such groups that promised people assistance in illegally crossing the border for money,” he added.
The DPSU spokesman notes that there has been an increase in the number of illegal border crossing attempts since September. This is influenced by various factors, including weather conditions.
Since October 28, new rules for crossing the shift have entered into force, providing for the digitization of the control process, in connection with which border guards now use electronic registers to check documents.
According to the new rules, men with a deferral can travel abroad without hindrance if they have the appropriate supporting documents, and they can also cross the border accompanying a parent with a disability.
Earlier on the border with Slovakia at the Uzhhorod checkpoint detained a Ukrainian with forged documents. The petitioner tried to prove that he is a Tajik by nationality, with three wives and children waiting at home.
Man drove through on a bicycle 750 kilometers from Mykolaiv to Bukovyna, and he was caught a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian-Romanian border.
