In Ukraine, in particular in Rivne, the military counterintelligence of the SBU detained a spy, a 28-year-old citizen of the Russian Federation, who was trying to reveal the location of the partisan underground of the Special Operations Forces (SSO).
By information SBU, the detainee previously served in the military as a scout and arrived in Ukraine in 2021, posing as an ordinary resident.
In the course of his activities, the spy collected contacts of servicemen of the SSO and tried to obtain their personal data for transmission to Russia through closed communication channels.
During the search, a Russian army uniform was found on the man. The arrest occurred at the end of his career, and he is currently being held without bail.
This case testifies to the active activity of Russian agents on the territory of Ukraine, which threatens the security of the military and information security of the country. Previously, the SBU also detained other spies, in particular, an FSB agent who was passing on information about the Ukrainian military.
The SBU detained an agent of the GRU of the Russian Federation in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the Kharkiv Region.
It will be recalled that the Security Service of Ukraine notified four bloggers of suspicion for “leaking” the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The SBU also exposed three schemes for evading mobilization.
