Yesterday, on New Year’s Eve, a boat with people got stuck in a crisis on the Dnieper River in Poltava region.

According to rescuers, the emergency event was reported at 11:48 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The incident happened in the village of Hradizk, Kremenchug district, Poltava region.
In the floodplain of the Dnipro River — about 200 meters from the shore — a boat carrying two men and one woman got stuck in the crisis. “The danger was reported by one of the men, who managed to reach the shore on his own through the crisis,” the State Emergency Service said.
Another man also tried to get out, but due to falling under the ice and exhaustion, he started calling for help. Employees of the Hradizka local fire department pulled him out of the ice at a distance of about 50 meters from the shore with the help of a rescue rope.
In order to save the woman who remained in the boat, the divers of the State Emergency Service used an airboat: the rescuers reached the boat, transferred the woman to the airboat and brought her safely to the shore.
