The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been referred to the court. Three perpetrators, residents of Sheptytskyi, aged 17, 18 and 20, are charged with a criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment – restriction of freedom for a term of up to five years or deprivation of liberty for a term of up to four years.
Criminal police operatives and investigators of the Sheptytsky District Police Department exposed the perpetrators. The location of the fourth figure, a 21-year-old resident of Sheptytskyi, is currently being established. After his arrest, the perpetrator will be brought to court to choose a preventive measure.
It will be recalled that, returning from a tour in Poland and Finland, the artists of the folk ensemble “Hutsuliya” became the victims of a brutal attack in the city of Sheptytskyi (Chervonograd) in the Lviv region. A group of about six young men and three women broke into their bus and began to physically assault them.
The internal inspection of the police of the Lviv region is conducting a review of the actions of law enforcement officers during the incident with the beating of the artists of the national song and dance ensemble “Hutsuliya” in Sheptytskyi. They watched the beatings and did not intervene.
The artists of the National Song and Dance Ensemble “Hutsuliya” received threats from the father of one of the attackers after the incident became public.
