In October 2024, during the funeral of a resident of Vidnev who died in the war, his fellow villagers shot a video showing a dispute in the church. The priest of the OCU in the village of Vidniv, Stepan Perig, says that when the funeral pyre was brought to the church, the parishioners of the UOC (MP), led by priest Hryhorii Farat, began to prevent the ceremony.
On October 15, the regional department for religious affairs told Suspilny by phone that the community of the Moscow Patriarchate has been operating in Vienna since 1991. The Law “On Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Field of Activities of Religious Organizations” entered into force at the end of September this year and provides for the termination of the activities of religious organizations related to the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of Ukraine.

As of November 3, 2024, seven more religious communities in Lviv Oblast remain under the jurisdiction of the Russian Orthodox Church.
