The Court of Appeal began a hearing in the case of Yevgeny Metzger, the former chairman of the Board of Ukreximbank, who at one time attacked journalists.

The court of first instance awarded Mesger and his colleagues fines, but the victims were appealed, demanding a strict punishment, including the prohibition of Metzger to occupy state positions. He is currently headed by Ukrfinzhitlo.

Mezger’s lawyers insist on the closing of the case because of the limitation period. He himself participates in a meeting through a videoconference.

The Metzger himself joined the court hearing through a videoconference. He is currently abroad because of a business trip.

The case has been repeatedly transferred. The victims of journalists insist on a fair punishment for all the accused.

Earlier, we wrote that the Holosiivskyi District Court of Kyiv was renewed as director of the Banking Security Department of Ukreximbank Igor Telbizov, and decided to pay him 8 million hryvnias of salary and compensation for a “papped impeccable reputation”.
