In Rivne, on March 20, there was an explosion that law enforcement officers qualified as a terrorist act.
The incident happened around 13:40 on Kyivska Street, near one of the city shopping and entertainment centers. At the scene, employees of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine are investigating.
According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred in a car that transported a homemade explosive device. The incident was injured by the driver and passenger of the vehicle. Both of the victims were hospitalized for a medical facility for emergency care. Their condition is currently clarified.
The Security Service of Ukraine classified this case as an “attempt of the terrorist attack” and opened criminal proceedings under the relevant article.
Special services, together with the police, carry out comprehensive measures to establish all the circumstances of the event and persons who may be involved in the organization of the explosion.
Law enforcement officers promise to inform the public in addition to the investigation. The analysis of the evidence collected at the scene, as well as checking the possible motives of the crime, is currently underway.
Locals are urging to keep peace and report any suspicious objects or actions.
