The case happened last fall. On October 30, the whole family from Kopychyntsi of Chortkiv district came to the hospital. Among the victims were 8 children aged 3 to 17 years, seven of whom were siblings, as well as a mother’s cohabitant.
It turned out that on October 27, a man was picking mushrooms and cooking pancakes. Ate the whole family except mom. The same evening, the children worsened and had all the signs of poisoning, but the woman went to the hospital only three days later – October 30.
In a few weeks, three girls died in the hospital-3-year-old and two years of age-as well as a 59-year-old man. One of 13-year-old girls did not belong to a large family, but stayed in families. Another 5 children were healthy disorders qualified as grievous injuries.
The woman was declared suspicion of malicious failure to fulfill the responsibilities of child care, which caused grave consequences (Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and in the abandonment without the help of a person who is in a dangerous condition (Part 3 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The woman threatens up to eight years in prison.
Also, children have been removed from the family: they need special care and long -term treatment.
We will remind, recently in the Novodnistrovsk Chernivtsi region the family was poisoned by mushrooms. The man and child with a preliminary diagnosis of mushroom poisoning, doctors were hospitalized.
In the Transcarpathian region, three children were poisoned with carbon monoxide. They were hospitalized at a local hospital.
