The court imposed a punishment in the form of 3 years of imprisonment under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, however, taking into account the nature of the crime, the absence of harmful consequences and the positive pre -trial characteristics, the doll can be released from serving a sentence with a probation for 1 year.
The man himself, responding to such a sentence, stated that he would appeal and promised to appeal to the International Court of Human Rights, if necessary.
Cook also accused the prosecutor of distorting facts.
The prosecutor’s office of Sumy region noted that the Ukrainian did not receive a sentence for the protection of the village from the invaders in Sumy region.
“The man was convicted for refusing to hand over the weapon after Sumy region’s de -occupation,” law enforcement officers added.
Police found that he had been convicted six times before, in particular for illegal storage of ammunition and drugs. In addition, he produces weapons at his place of residence, and he voluntarily refused.
After that, the law enforcement officers conducted a search during which they seized a rifle, two guns and gunpowder.
“It was for the illegal storage of this arsenal that the accused was judged,” the prosecutor’s office was added.
Police have repeatedly asked residents of Sumy region to hand over weapons, which they have no right to store. Those who voluntarily brought weapons were not criminally liable.
It should be added that Vitaliy Kukol helped defend his village Kamianka from the invaders. In particular, he personally produced explosives and replaced the road from Kamenka to Trostyanets, which was occupied.
The man also helped to evacuate people from temporarily occupied territories.
Earlier it was reported that in Ukraine the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be attached from 20% to 30% of the total number of convicts. Currently, more than 8,300 convicts have joined the Armed Forces, and another 1,000 applications are under consideration.
