According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the investigation found that in early 2025, a woman during a meeting with an acquaintance reported her pregnancy. At the same time she indicated that she did not intend to leave the baby. Moreover, she has a narcotic dependence, so she needs the money, so she is looking for those who want to buy her baby. If they do not find them, then the baby will get rid of. The man promised to help her, but he went to the police.
Already under the supervision of law enforcement officers, a pregnant woman met with a couple, whom she suggested to sell a baby for $ 30,000. They agreed. The woman told them that in the birth certificate she would indicate that the child’s father is this man who wants to buy it. Then she will give up the newborn, so this man will have a legitimate reason to pick up the baby. At the same time, she asked the couple to transfer her a deposit of $ 1 thousand. The rest – after the baby is born.
On May 1, 2025, a woman gave birth to a girl. Already on May 8, she met with a couple and seized $ 29,000. Then she was detained by law enforcement.
Currently, the issue of notification of the detainee about suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 15 h. 3 Art. 149 (completed attempted trading of a minor child committed by his mother, from 8 to 15 years) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
