The court sentenced three men and a woman from Poltava, pleading guilty of illegal production and sale of tobacco products. The accused was imposed in the form of imprisonment with confiscation and destruction of illegally manufactured goods, equipment and raw materials.
This was reported by the press service of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the group built an illegal shop in the remote area of Poltava region. There they processed sheet tobacco with the help of specialized equipment, packed products and sold it. The finished tobacco products were stored in the rented premises in the territory of Poltava and Kharkiv regions to avoid exposure.
During the searches, the detectives seized more than 1.7 tons of tobacco and equipment for its processing.
The court found the actions of the persons involved in a crime organized by an organized group and qualified them as illegal production, storage and sale of tobacco products. Three people were sentenced to 4 years in prison, another woman – up to 3 years.
Meanwhile, detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine conducted a successful operation to eliminate a powerful conversion center in Kyiv region.
We will remind, the Bureau of Economic Security has arrested on a controlled oligarch of Konstantin Zhevago Assets. It is a complex of more than 6.7 thousand square meters. m in the center of Kiev, as well as for UAH 291 million in the bank accounts of the company.
