Water supply was suspended early in the morning of June 12, reported Infoxvodokanal.
The emergency shutdown occurred in three out of four districts of the city – in Kyiv, Primorsky and part of Khadzhibeysky.
“There was an accident on the main water supply, resulting in the residents of Kyiv, Primorsky and part of Khadzhibay (Cheremushki) regions of Odessa, settlements of Lymanka, a red village,” the company said.
In addition, there are large residential complexes “Rainbow”, “Sauvignon 1-5”, “Chernomork”, and HCP “Tairov”.
Experts have explained that the damage has occurred in an inaccessible place, and this complicates the repair and restoration work.
In the city there was a breakthrough of a main pressure water pipe with a diameter of 1200 mm, which was once made of reinforced concrete, so because of the technological features of its repair requires more time than steel or plastic.
A considerable lake appeared at the scene of the damage, which continued to increase, and there was a mud. Because of this, brigades and equipment could not fully dig the pipe, so the repairers had to stop the operation of some pumping stations to devastate the water supply. At the same time, even more population is left without water.
