In Odessa, the National Police detained the attacker who was a lawyer and promised to remove the military accounting.
According to the National Police, previously convicted of fraud 33-year-old resident of Odessa suggested a man who had documents for booking until February 2026, generally removed him from military registration for health reasons. For this he wanted to get $ 15 thousand.
For persuasiveness, he introduced himself to a lawyer and covered with relations with the officials of the district territorial assembly center, with whom he allegedly intended to negotiate.
In order for the man not to refuse cooperation, the attacker resorted to intimidation: he threatened to cancel the reservation and search him. At the same time, to receive money as soon as possible, he told about the possibility of turning the equipment now, since the next chance to issue documents will be no earlier than half a year.
Immediately after receiving the money, the operatives and investigators of the Odessa police detained the scammer in the order of Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
He was informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 369-2 (abuse) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides up to 8 years in prison.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officers reported the suspicion of the resident of the capital who illegally transported the military to Moldova. This service costs $ 30,000 instead of traditional $ 5-10 thousand.
