“The staff of the State Bureau of Investigation reported the suspicion of the commander of one of the military units of the Odessa region, who used four subordinate fighters for personal needs,” – the message reads.
Law enforcement officers found that in December 2024 the official attracted four servicemen to repair an apartment in Podilsk, registered for his mother of his civilian wife.
During the period from December 2024 to April 2025, the fighters, instead of carrying out combat missions, were repaired: stacked tiles, putty walls, mounted plumbing and more.
Despite their absence in the service, servicemen received combat payments, and this caused losses to the state in the amount of more than 500 thousand hryvnias. At the same time, other military units performed combat missions on the front line.
The DBR staff detained the commander directly in the apartment where he was repairing. The issue of choosing a preventive measure and removing it from office is currently being resolved.
The man is threatened with imprisonment for up to 12 years.
Previously, law enforcement officers exposed a platoon commander of one of the military units in Ternopil region, who used a subordinate serviceman not for his intended purpose. He sent him to repair his daughter’s house, the military salary was received as for being on the forefront.
