In the Odesa region, border guards exposed the organizer of another illegal border crossing scheme. He tried to transport the “passenger” to Moldova in a “Renault” truck, hiding him in a niche under the container of the trailer.

This was reported by the State Border Service.

A 39-year-old border resident turned out to be the organizer of the scheme for evaders. The truck driver put the passenger on the beam under the trailer and drove to the “Tabaka” checkpoint.

The driver valued the “ticket” abroad at 5,000 US dollars, 2,000 dollars of which he received as a deposit.

During the search of the vehicle, the funds were found and seized. Criminal proceedings have been opened against the accused under part 3 Art. 332 of the Criminal Code (“Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine”). He faces up to 9 years in prison.

Before that, the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an associate professor of the Department of History of the Uzhgorod National University.

Recently, border guards detained another group of evaders. They will be remembered for the fact that they paid 400,000 hryvnias for a rubber boat to cross the Tisza River, but ran into border guards.
