According to “Lvivsvitlo” specialists, the guys started to shake the cabin, because of which the protection system was activated and the elevator stopped. Instead of waiting for help, the company decided to get out on their own, so they broke down the cabin door and the door to the elevator shaft on the 5th floor.
While trying to leave the elevator, one of the young men fell into the mine and was injured. The rescuers got him and handed him over to the emergency medics with fractures. According to the information of the State Emergency Service and the police, the boys were intoxicated.
The Shevchenkivska district administration reported that there had been no complaints about the operation of this elevator before. The elevator was put into operation in 1977, and in 2017 it was overhauled and the main components were replaced.
