Chapter 18 “Statistics” is the final block of questions included in Cluster 1 “Fundamentals of the EU accession process”, which is considered decisive throughout the process of accession negotiations. Meetings take place in a hybrid format.
“Statistics are the basis for making informed decisions both at the national and international levels. For Ukraine, which aspires to become a full-fledged part of the European community, the development of its statistical system and its harmonization with European standards is not just a technical issue, but a step towards deeper mutual understanding, trust and strategic partnership with the EU. For the European community, access to reliable and up-to-date data about Ukraine will allow us to better assess the potential of our cooperation and joint development,” said Chief Negotiator for Ukraine, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, who participates in meetings online.
The government official emphasized that Ukraine is waiting for the report of the European Commission on the screening of Cluster 1:
“We remain committed to the path of fundamental transformations, strengthening democracy and the rule of law in Ukraine, we await the next steps to implement the European Commission’s recommendation to open the first cluster in 2025, and we are ready for dynamic work to achieve a common goal.”

We will remind you that the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine concluded a number of implementation agreements with the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.
