On the morning of January 31, subway trains in Kyiv and Kharkiv were suspended due to a lack of voltage. Emergency power outages also began throughout Ukraine.
Kyiv
“Due to the loss of voltage from the external power supply centers in the subway, the movement of trains and the operation of escalators have been temporarily suspended. We will inform you further about the resumption of work,” the KMDA reported.
According to the mayor, emergency power outages occurred in Kyiv, as in many cities of Ukraine.
Metro traffic is stopped due to low voltage in the network. Underground metro stations can currently operate as a shelter (on the backup power supply of the stations).
As the correspondent of RBC-Ukraine reported, all three branches of the metro have stopped in Kyiv, as well as escalators and turnstiles, trains are not running. Communication nf Wi-Fi is also absent.
Also, due to the lack of voltage in the contact network in Kyiv, city electric trains are delayed for 20-30 minutes.
In particular, it is about flights:
- А10 Darnytsia – Vokzalna – Svyatoshyn from primary school;
- A11 Darnytsia – Vokzalna – Svyatoshyn from Borshchahivka station;
- B11 Svyatoshyn – Vokzalna – Darnytsia from Borshchahivka station.
Kharkiv
The Kharkiv Metro also reported that for technical reasons the movement of trains on the metro lines was temporarily suspended. The resumption of traffic will be notified in addition.
