In Kiev, police have eliminated a large -scale channel for the sale of psychotropic substances under the guise of drugs for weight loss from Asia. The cost of the seized drugs according to preliminary estimate exceeds UAH 52 million.

Dilika organized the import of prohibited substances from Asia to bypass customs control, and they got into Ukraine in the form of capsules for weight loss. In the future, they were recapitated in two rented warehouses and distributed through an online store.
According to the investigation, the criminal group included 13 people, each of whom played its role – from the organization of illegal importation to storage and sale.
The illegal “business” was organized by a resident of Kyiv region with his cohabitant. They provided the import of psychotrop under the guise of capsules for weight loss from Eastern and Central Asia to Ukraine outside customs control, and further dealers kept prohibited substances in two rented storage facilities, organized wholesale supplies of drugs to other members of the group across the country, which further sold them through.
“All these drugs were advertised as a” miracle-remedy “with a natural composition for easy weight loss and a quick result without any effort,” police said.
During the sanctioned searches, law enforcement officers seized about half a million pills containing psychotropic substance – sibutramine, and drugs with signs of falsification. Their cost at the prices of the “black” market is over UAH 52.2 million.
The two involved investigators reported suspicion of illegal purchase, storage and sale of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances in large sizes. After the examinations, investigators will decide on additional qualifications and notify the suspicion to other persons involved.
Earlier, the SAP and NABU exposed an organized criminal group operating at the Chernivtsi customs, causing losses to the state almost UAH 290 million.
The State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) reported suspicion to the head of the independent structural unit of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine in participation in a criminal organization for illegal amber production in Rivne region. The losses of the state exceeded UAH 354 million.
