Nine people who participated in the organization of a fake referendum during the occupation of Kherson region were sentenced to 10 years in prison with the confiscation of property.

The organizer of the group was a resident of Beryslav district, who led the occupation “election # 826″ and attracted eight villagers. “During the fake plebiscite, they bypassed the locals and agitated them to support the” accession “of Kherson region to the Russian Federation. During the raids, the collaborators were handed over to the people, ”the SBU reported.
After the de -occupation of the region, the intruders tried to avoid justice, and the leader of the group fled with the invaders on the Left Bank of the region. Eight others were detained in February 2024 on the territory of the liberated region.
The court found guilty of all nine participants of the occupation “election” under Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaborative activity, participation in the organization and conduct of illegal referendums).
Measures are underway to hold their community accountable, which is hiding in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of Ukraine.
