In Kharkiv, a former forester from the city of Balaklia, who actively cooperated with the invaders during the occupation, was sentenced. The man was sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment.

According to the investigation, after the occupation of Balaklia, the man went to cooperate with the invaders, after which he was appointed to manage the local forest farm, which became part of the occupation administration.

The henchman helped the occupiers organize the felling of trees, which were then handed over to the needs of the invaders.

After the release of Balaklia, the man went into hiding, but the Security Intelligence Service located him and detained him.

By court decision, he was found guilty of collaborative activity (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and was imprisoned for 6.6 years. Also, the collaborator’s property was confiscated, he was deprived of the right to hold positions related to organizational and administrative functions.

Earlier, the Solomyan District Court of Kyiv found two former employees of the Security Service of Ukraine from the temporarily occupied Crimea guilty of high treason and interference in the work of electronic communication networks based on the investigation materials of the State Security Bureau and the Security Service of Ukraine. They carried out cyber attacks on state web resources.
