The intruders in greenhouses instead of vegetables were grown drug -containing plants. To do this, they specifically equipped the care system and maintained the necessary conditions for growth. During the searches, the persons seized the hemp bushes worth about UAH 7 million at the prices of the “black market”.
The operatives of the Dnipropetrovsk Department of Internal Security of the National Police established the involvement of persons in illegal sowing and growing hemp. As it turned out, a resident of Kamyansky together with a community was engaged in unlawful activity.
They cultivated hemp bushes on their own land – in a greenhouse, where, according to them, vegetables were grown. So the attackers tried to avoid the superfluous attention of neighbors and not fall into the field of view of law enforcement. The plants carefully looked after the plants: they arranged a watering system, nourished the soil with fertilizers and provided the proper conditions for growth.
According to the materials of the internal security of the police, criminal proceedings under Art. 310 (sowing or growing sleeping poppy or hemp) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, law enforcement officers conducted sanctioned searches. At the prices of the “black market” for the sale of drug -containing plants, the attackers could receive at least UAH 7 million in profits.
On the basis of the evidence collected, police reported to the persons about suspicion. For the illegal cultivation of hemp by prior conspiracy, a group of persons for the purpose of selling both the suspect faces up to seven years in prison.
