In the evening of December 31, a gas cylinder exploded in Horodysh in Cherkasy region, which caused a large-scale fire. The family’s apartment building was practically destroyed, two women received burns. It is reported State Emergency Service.
The fire occurred in the evening of December 31 in the city of Horodyshche, Cherkasy region. The explosion of a gas cylinder quickly engulfed the house in flames, destroying furniture, appliances, household items and important documents. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service and the local fire brigade of the village of Starosillya were involved in extinguishing the fire.
Two women were injured as a result of the explosion. The girl, born in 2006, received burns on her face and hands and was hospitalized. A woman born in 1979 also suffered facial burns, but refused hospitalization.
“The cause of the tragedy is tentatively called the explosion of a gas cylinder,” the State Emergency Service reported. Rescuers are currently working on the final elimination of the consequences of the fire, and the family was left without a roof over their heads. The local authorities promise to provide the affected family with temporary housing and help to restore basic household needs.
