In 2025, North Korea will send another 150 short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. In addition, Pyongyang is likely to hand over additional howitzers.
This was reported by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with The War Zone.
Budanov noted that Pyongyang is expected to send 150 more KN-23 short-range ballistic missiles to Moscow. Last year, the Russian Federation received 148 such missiles.
It is these North Korean missiles that are launched over Ukraine from the Kursk and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation.
In addition, over the past three months, North Korea has provided Russia with about 120 units of 170 mm M1989 Koksan self-propelled artillery units and 120 240 mm M-1991 multiple rocket launchers.
Probably, the DPRK will send at least the same amount to Russia in the future, Budanov added.
“They have a lot of such systems,” said the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense.
According to Budanov, most of these weapons are used either against Ukrainian troops or for training in Russia.
“The 170-millimeter weapon has a powerful ammunition and good capability. 240-mm MLRS are similar to any other heavy systems. They create more problems on the front line,” he explained.
It will be recalled that North Korea sent about 11,000 soldiers to help Russia in the Kursk region, which was captured by Ukrainian troops after the operation last summer.
Recently, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine discovered a hiding place with North Korean documents in Kurshchyna.
Earlier, Ukrainian soldiers captured two soldiers from North Korea in Kurshchyna.
Employees of the Ukrainian special services interrogated prisoners captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kurshchyna. One of them says that he does not mind staying in Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, announced that the captive North Korean soldiers are still communicating with SBU investigators.
