This year, postgraduate studies in Ukraine have a noticeable gender imbalance: 80% of those who want to continue their scientific career – men. Instead, there are almost an equal number of women and men – 48.2% and 51.8%, respectively.
This was reported by the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Sergey Babak.
Not all registered have appeared for exams: 16.3% of people refused to participate in the magistracy, and 20.4% to graduate school.
The results of the tests were high: only 6 out of almost 13.6 thousand participants to graduate school did not overcome the passage score, and among the masters – 79 out of more than 93 thousand. As a result, more than 65% of candidates for training received from 150 to 200 points.
Entrants made Eve – the only entrance exam, including a test of general educational competence (TKNA) and a foreign language.
In foreign language, the threshold did not overcome 2.7% of graduate students (298 people), most of them were men (212). Among the entrants to the magistracy, the exam did not make 4.87%, with men and women almost equally.
At the same time, 39.8% of postgraduate participants and 29.3% received high scores (150–200).
“In general, the main session showed good training of entrants,” Babak summed up.
In Ukraine, radical changes in the field of scientific publications are planned – state bodies are undertaken to eliminate the multimillion -dollar “gray market” of the sale of scientific articles and diplomas.
