According to Yermak, exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States to Ukraine can be an important step in ensuring Ukraine’s energy security and stabilizing the energy market of Europe. Ukraine is already negotiating with US LNG companies, which will reduce the dependence on Russian energy and provide stable energy supply to the future.
Increasing the supply of US LNG to Ukraine should be part of a wider strategy that will help reduce Russia’s influence on energy markets. Constant gas supplies from the United States will reduce price volatility, weaken Russia’s ability to manipulate energy markets and reduce the risks associated with artificial shortages or rising prices.
In particular, Germany, Poland and Baltic countries have already increased the infrastructure for LNG imports, which creates a more flexible power system for Europe and allows to receive more gas from the United States. Continuation of infrastructure expansion in Ukraine will also allow the use of internal gas resources to ensure the stability of the power system.
Exports of American LNG also has economic benefits for the United States. It is noted that gas production and supply from the United States contributes to the creation of new jobs, investing in infrastructure and increasing economic production in the country. Increasing LNG deliveries will contribute to the development of drilling, transportation, liquefaction and transportation of gas, which will bring additional benefits for the US economy.
“If representatives of the Trump administration and business leaders consider the future of US energy policy, it is important that Ukraine is a priority to be aware of the readiness of Ukraine to carry out large -scale, long -term purchases of American LNG,” Andrey Yermak said.
Becoming a strategic partner for the United States in the field of energy, Ukraine gets a chance to become an important consumer of US gas, which will strengthen US position in the European energy market.
In the future, after the end of the war, Ukraine will need significant restoration, and strategic energy cooperation with the United States can be an important element in the reconstruction of the country. Improving energy security and stability of energy supply will be an important basis for restoring the Ukrainian economy and strengthening its position in the international arena.
