He is called the embodiment of freedom and intellectual authority in Poland at once for several generations, whose values formed his work. At the same time, Andrzej Stasyuk, a well -known publicist, prose writer, playwright, poet and publisher, does not even have secondary education, and after he was drafted into the army of socialist Poland, because of pacifist beliefs he became a deserter and got beyond the lattice.
Today, 64 -year -old Stasiuk is the author of numerous works, has been published in Ukrainian and almost most European languages, has received many literary awards and, despite changing priorities for some of his compatriots in helping Ukraine in the war, continues to do what he can do. For example, he collects money for military equipment for a unit where Ukrainian poet Sergei Zhadan serves.
This conversation with Stasiuk took place in his house in the Lemko village of Volovets, which in Polish low Beskids, where the writer lives for about 40 years. In communication, he was extremely frank, even thinking about the most painful things.
