Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, commented on the forecasts regarding the possible end of the war in 2026, shifting the emphasis from specific dates to the issue of survival and strategic stability of the state.
This is reported by “Novyny.Live”.
Yusov noted that the Ukrainian defense forces, the diplomatic corps and the military-political leadership are directing all efforts to achieve a just peace as soon as possible, but the decisive factor will remain the society’s ability to resist for a long time.
Intelligence calls internal consolidation the main guarantee of success and preservation of statehood in 2026. According to Yusov, unity in matters of domestic policy, unchanging foreign policy orientations and joint assessment of the aggressor’s actions are the fundamental elements that allow the country to effectively confront the enemy. It is the cohesion of society around common goals that is defined as the main tool that guarantees the success of Ukraine in the conditions of a long conflict.
The GUR stressed that the enemy is counting on internal destabilization in Ukraine, therefore preserving consolidation is not just a political issue, but a matter of national security. Resilience in the face of external challenges directly depends on how strong citizens’ faith in joint victory remains and the readiness of state institutions to work as a single mechanism.
