Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Michotakis has initiated the creation of a modern transport corridor, which will connect the Greek port of Alexandropolis with Ukrainian Odessa.
He stated this during the Summit “Ukraine-Southeastern Europe”, which took place on June 11 in Odessa with the participation of leaders of the region.
The route of the future corridor should run through the Bulgarian Varna and Romanian Constantz, and its total length will be about 700 kilometers.
According to Michotakis, this project is ambitious and comprehensive – it provides not only the transport railway, but also the development of electrical and gas networks.
The Prime Minister of Greece emphasized
He stressed that this corridor can be an alternative to maritime transportation, allowing the transportation of Ukrainian products much faster and more efficiently.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that the project could be offered to finance the European Union. This will attract the necessary investments and ensure a large -scale infrastructure initiative.
In addition, the Greek Prime Minister noted that Greece is ready to provide Ukraine with expert and technical support to accelerate the process of European integration.
Michotakis is convinced that the creation of such a corridor will be a “clear and tangible vision of how Ukraine’s integration in the EU can really change the lives of Ukrainians.”
He stressed that it is not only an infrastructure but also a strategic project that will strengthen economic cooperation between the countries of the region and strengthen Ukraine’s position in the European market.
We will remind, Greece does not plan to transfer to Ukraine any of its complexes Patriot.
We also reported that a high -profile political scandal broke out in Greece – the Special Supreme Court of the country made a decision to deprive the mandates of three deputies of the far right of the Spartan Party, including its leader Vasilis Stigas.
