The owner and head of the Gostomel Shelter animal shelter Maria Vronskaya received the Forbes award and was included in the list of Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Agents of Change.
This year, the 5th award ceremony was held in Kyiv, which celebrated thirty Ukrainians who form new trends and change the rules of play in their fields. The selection of participants was carried out carefully and multi -level. Maria was on the list because she was able to maintain and develop asylum in martial areas at 27 years. Gostomel Shelter experienced occupation, needed full updating and support, and in the last two years Maria with the team rescued hundreds of animals, raised more than $ 800,000 assistance and created new formats of work with society.
In order to change the idea of shelters and make adoption popular, the team founded the first in Ukraine an animal adoption festival that helped to find a house for 1700 dogs and cats. It’s like giving several large shelters completely.
