“The rare academic editions of 1830-1906 returned to Kiev in 80 years. Each of them is not only a valuable folio, but also a testimony that at the end of the XIX – early XX century, there was a high level of university education and academic science in Ukraine. We are grateful to Ms. Barbari Braes for this noble step, as well as diplomats of Ukraine for their assistance to the return of these values. Today’s event is a living testimony to Ukraine’s active participation in international treaties for the return of cultural heritage and counteracting illegal export of inheritance. Other valuable artifacts will return to the country in the near future, ”said Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Sergey Belyaev.
