Germany provides Ukraine with an additional aid package in the amount of 60 million euros to get through the winter period and strengthen energy stability. The funds will be used to improve heating and heat supply, in particular in the frontline regions.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
“I highly appreciate the additional package of 60 million euros for winter and energy support to Ukraine, which was announced today by my friend and colleague, Minister Vadeful,” Sybiga said.
According to him, this aid will provide better conditions for the population in the cold season, especially in the regions that suffer the most from the consequences of the war.
“We appreciate the steadfast solidarity of Germany, which supports our people and critical infrastructure in this difficult time,” added the head of the MFA of Ukraine.
The day before, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko spoke with criticism of the central government, stating the lack of proper coordination of actions on the eve of the massive Russian attack on the energy infrastructure of the capital, which occurred on January 9, 2026.
As of the morning of January 16, there were in Kyiv missing houses without permanent electricity supply, however, about 127 houses remain without heating.
