According to Zelenskyi, Germany has been helping Ukraine since the first days of the war, and its support saves the lives of Ukrainians and strengthens defense capabilities. “Friedrich shows real leadership and I really appreciate our coordination. Europe becomes stronger thanks to our joint steps and Germany’s support for our defense, which is one of the largest in many aspects in Europe,” the president said.
He emphasized that it is the German Patriot and IRIS-T complexes that protect a significant part of Ukrainian energy and cities. “Already now there is also an important package of energy support. Each such step makes Ukraine stronger. Thank you for such tangible support,” added Zelensky.
The parties also discussed further cooperation and agreed on joint work between Ukraine, Germany and European partners next week. “I am grateful for Germany’s willingness to help with the reconstruction of our country. It was agreed that our teams will work out all the necessary steps,” the president emphasized.
This conversation emphasizes that protecting the energy infrastructure and preparing for the recovery of the country remain priorities for Kyiv and its partners in Europe.
