A special meeting of G7+ leaders on energy support for Ukraine was devoted to the consequences of new targeted attacks by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak informed the partners about the critical situation in the energy sector, which arose after the combined strikes on the facilities of the gas industry and the electricity transmission system. The department emphasized that Russia has also increased its shelling of the railway infrastructure, which provides key logistics and the operation of the economy.
Andarak thanked the partners for their support and presented a list of urgent needs of the energy system. Additional volumes of imported gas, systems of active and passive protection of energy facilities, transformers, mobile substations, generators and storage batteries are among the requirements.
The partners also informed the Ukrainian side of updated information on support for natural gas purchases.
We will remind that the energy infrastructure of Ukraine was subjected to a large-scale ballistic attack by Russian terrorist forces. The power supply system was partially stabilized, but hourly outage schedules were introduced.
