France will allocate 71 million euros to Ukraine during 2026 for reconstruction projects and will hand over 150 generators during February to support the power system.
This was stated by French Trade Minister Nicolas Faucier during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Kyiv, writes Suspilne.
According to him, the total amount of funding in two years can reach 200 million euros, and the main goal of the assistance is to quickly respond to the needs of critical infrastructure restoration in the conditions of a difficult winter.
Funds will be allocated through a project competition on the DREAM platform, where French companies will choose priority areas in agreement with the Ukrainian government. In addition to financial support, the parties officially launched the French-Ukrainian Council of Entrepreneurs and signed a number of memoranda on technological cooperation. These agreements cover the localization of production, the development of artificial intelligence for drones, demining and cooperation in the extraction of critical minerals to reduce dependence on monopolistic countries such as the Russian Federation.
As part of the winter support program, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) provided Ukraine with 42 more generators of various capacities, which are already being sent to the frontline regions to stabilize the operation of critical infrastructure.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated that international partners will continue to support the Ukrainian energy system. In particular, more than 38 tons of energy equipment from various European countries were transferred to Ukraine already last week.
