The prosecutor’s office and police exposed a criminal organization that acted under the direction of the former Deputy Mayor of Kharkiv.

Its participants are suspected of stealing UAH 5.4 million of budget funds allocated for the arrangement of fortifications in war. According to the investigation, the group consisted of five people: the organizer-the former official of the City Council and four performers, including two managers of enterprises and two individuals-entrepreneurs.
“The organizer and director of one of the enterprises as the main contractor, involved in the illegal activity of the head of the company-laying and two of the same FOPs, who made the purchase of property for the arrangement of fortification at prices overpriced by more than 30% of market,”-the prosecutor’s office said.
Due to the actions of the state, losses of over UAH 5 million were caused. During the searches in Kharkiv and the region, law enforcement officers seized documents, computers and other evidence of illegal activity.
The former deputy mayor is charged with the creation and management of a criminal organization, as well as the waste of budget funds in particularly large amounts. Other participants are complicity in the scheme.
All the persons involved were detained. The investigation filed a petition in court for detention without the right to make a bail.
It should be reminded that the Drohobych City District Court of Lviv Oblast declared guilty of the Chief State Inspector of the Department of Support of Litigation of Legal Support of the State traffic police department in Lviv region in receipt of a bribe and imposed a fine of 42 500 UAH.
