Forecast for October 25-27:

October 25 (Saturday) — moderate solar activity with K-index is expected 4 (yellow level) corresponding to an average magnetic storm.

October 26 (Sunday) — the geomagnetic situation will be calm, the K-index will increase 2.7 (green level).

October 27 (Monday) — weak magnetic activity with K-index is predicted 3.7 (green level).
Forecasts are subject to change as solar activity data is updated every three hours. It is recommended to periodically check the current information.
What is a magnetic storm
A magnetic storm occurs due to flares on the Sun, during which a stream of charged particles is thrown into space. Having reached the Earth’s magnetosphere, they cause fluctuations in the planet’s magnetic field.
The intensity of such fluctuations is determined K-index:
