Ukrainian energy engineers are once again working on restoring the power supply lines that supply the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Currently, repair works are ongoing, which are already 42 in number after the capture of the station by the Russian occupiers.
The Ministry of Energy reports this on its Telegram channel.
“Connecting the Zaporizhzhia NPP to the Ukrainian power grid and ensuring its stable operation by our specialists is a key condition for preventing any incidents or accidents at the largest nuclear facility in Europe,” the Ministry of Energy emphasized.
The ministry emphasized that the only reason for the risks and threat of a radiation incident in Europe remains Russian military aggression, the occupation of the station and systematic shelling of Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
We would like to remind you that at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAEP) the repair of damaged power lines has begun, which is a key stage for ensuring nuclear safety.
A decision on the temporary cessation of hostilities for the purpose of carrying out repairs at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) may be adopted tomorrow, October 17.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) calls on Ukraine and the Russian Federation to agree to a local ceasefire. This would make it possible to restore the external energy supply of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant power plants.
