Finland will send the 30th package of military aid to Ukraine, President Alexander Stubb decided on October 17 at the suggestion of the government.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Finland, the cost of supplies will be about 52 million euros. The package will be formed mainly from new orders of Finnish companies.
Defense Minister Antti Häkkanen emphasized: “The future of a free and secure Europe will be decided in Ukraine – this requires perseverance and firmness from all allies.”
For operational security reasons, details about the composition of the aid, delivery methods and schedule are not being released. When making the decision, the needs of Ukraine and the capabilities of the Finnish armed forces were taken into account.
Finland has announced its intention to join the NATO initiative to purchase American weapons for Ukraine. A new military aid package should arrive soon.
New announcements are expected this week about the supply of arms to Ukraine through NATO’s PURL (Program for the Purchase of US Arms), which provides for the purchase of arms from the US.
