The decision was made following the results of the meeting of the headquarters for liquidation of the consequences of the attack, which was chaired by the head of “Ukrzaliznytsia” Oleksandr Pertsovsky.
The mayor of Fastov, Mykhailo Netyazhuk, announced that the damaged structure will be completely dismantled, and a modern station adapted to the needs of the community and passengers will appear in its place.
During the construction period, passengers will be served in a temporary modular structure, which will be installed directly on the platform.
Such a format will preserve the continuity of rail service and provide basic services for people who use the station every day.
Special attention is planned to be paid to the waiting conditions and safety, so that passengers feel minimal discomfort despite ongoing restoration work.
According to Netyazhuk, the project of the new building will go through the procedure of public discussions – residents of the Fastiv community will be able to participate in shaping its appearance and functionality.
The citizens were promised that their suggestions would be taken into account during the development of architectural solutions and planning of the interior space. This approach should transform the future station not only into a transport facility, but also into an important public space.
