Russian dictator Vladimir Putin increased the number of the Armed Forces of the Russian aggressor country to 2,389,000 people, including 1.5 million military personnel. This is evidenced by Putin’s decree, writes the propaganda agency RIA-Novosti on Monday, September 16.
The decree states that it enters into force on December 1, 2024. Compared to the previous size of the Russian army, this means an increase of almost 180,000 people.
The previous time Putin increased the number of his troops in December 2023, it amounted to 2,209,130 people, including 1.32 million military personnel, Russian propagandists write.
New mobilization in Russia – what is known
The plans to increase the number of armed forces to 1.5 million servicemen were announced in December 2023 by the then Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Serhiy Shoigu.
