The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, announced that the energy industry had restored power supply in all regions after the large-scale accident that occurred on the morning of August 31. Regions are currently returning to scheduled blackout schedules.

This was reported by Shmyhal on his own Telegram-channels.

“All regions are returning to planned schedules, high-voltage lines and substations are operating as usual. The power engineers worked as quickly as possible,” the report says.

Shmyhal explained that in the morning there were two accidents on high-voltage lines with an interval of a minute. This, in turn, led to cascading blackouts in seven regions of Ukraine.

“Versions about a cyber attack or external intervention have not been confirmed. According to preliminary estimates, this happened due to icing of lines and equipment,” said Shmyhal

According to him, the situation will be difficult today in the north, in the center of the country and in the Odesa region. In particular, in Kyiv, 64 teams are working to restore electricity supply, and 220 teams are working to restore heating.

Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, published an evening video address in which he said that the most difficult situation is now in Kyiv.

“The most difficult thing now is in Kyiv, there is a significant shortage of heating, almost 3.5 thousand houses in various districts are without heat. The city, utility services, and energy companies promise to correct the heat situation as much as possible by tomorrow morning, but the pace should be faster. Regarding the provision of water in Kyiv, water should be available to all consumers today,” the president informed.

We remind you that it is in the evening in Kyiv region and part of Odesa region returned to planned schedules of blackouts.
