The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovy, appealed to the residents of the city to limit the use of private transport due to heavy snowfall. He also called on businesses to help utilities clear the snow.

“Snow will fall during the day as well today. About 2,025 cm of precipitation is forecast. This is not a one-time layer, but a constant shedding throughout the day. The equipment works continuously, but the cleaned areas are immediately covered with new snow. That’s why I’m appealing to businesses: join in and help clear the snow near your establishments, offices and businesses,” Sadovy stressed.
In particular, the mayor asked Lviv residents not to use private cars. “Postpone meetings, warn the manager that you will be later. And if you have to leave – do not park your car in difficult places, on bends and narrow streets. “Parked cars are now the biggest obstacle to the operation of equipment and create additional risks,” he said.
Sadovy noted that currently there are 22 appeals regarding uncleaned roads and two – regarding sidewalks. “I understand that there will be more of them. Therefore, I ask you to report – especially where it is critically important,” he concluded.
People’s deputy from “European Solidarity” Sofia Fedina also joined in cleaning the streets from snow. She showed the corresponding photo on Facebook.
“We are clearing the way to the kindergartens. And the snow is falling. And the drivers clean the cars and dump the snow on the cleared sidewalk, although they could respect the work. There are streets and sidewalks that no one except me and my mother has ever cleaned during these days,” wrote the deputy.

On the N-09 highway connecting Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsksignificant traffic jams occurred due to difficult weather conditions and ice. Drivers reported forced stops lasting up to an hour in areas where snow removal equipment is currently operating.
