Snowfalls, ice and difficult traffic on the roads are observed in Ukraine. Rescuers in various regions are already providing assistance to citizens and are urging people to avoid unnecessary trips over long distances.
About this informs State Emergency Service.
In the Rivne region, due to bad weather, rescuers freed cars from snowdrifts on the Kyiv-Chop highway. In the Lviv region, in the Stryi district, doctors were helped to reach the patient in the village of Slavske. There, the “quick car” could not independently overcome the steep climb due to the slippery road.
“Departments of the State Emergency Service work around the clock and are ready to respond to emergency situations, but remember: the best help in bad weather is your prudence,” the message reads.
In particular, the State Emergency Service urges not to go on long trips unnecessarily, and the following must be in the trunk:
- a shovel and a rope to free yourself from a snow trap;
- a winter washer and a full tank of fuel to warm the interior in the event of a stop;
- reflectors – the vest will make you visible to other drivers in a blizzard;
- a supply of heat – a thermos with tea, a blanket or a thermal blanket;
- communication – power bank and offline cards.
“If you see a warning about blizzard or ice – stay at home,” the State Emergency Service emphasizes.
Kyiv region opened heating points for drivers due to bad weather.
